Many stars aligned for this first image to work out as well as it did…

Their dad first contacted me by phone a few months ago the day before I flew out to Hawaii.  He wanted to discuss things with his wife and get back to me, so I let him know when I would be back in town and that he could call or email.  I received an email from him about a week later requesting to book and noticed this line as part of his email signature, “M.S. Student-Raptor Biology Program”.  For those of you that don’t know, that basically means that he is studying about birds.  Very cool!  I knew that we needed to include birds into the session somehow and what cuter birds to include than owls?!  AND… his wife and him were expecting TWO – a boy and a girl, so I was on the lookout for matching owl hats!

I ended up finding a cute set on etsy and with over a month to go, I was sure they would be here on time.  Their session was scheduled for the last week in April and about a week before (they should have been here 3 weeks prior based on the etsy listing), I realized that the hats still weren’t here!?!  I emailed the vendor and she explained that she was behind and would do her best to get them out within a few days.  With no guarantee, I started looking again.  I asked on facebook and found one lady willing to custom make a set for me.  However, while waiting for a response from her, I had gone back to etsy and found a darling set that included tiny owl stuffies!!  I had to have them!!  I emailed the shop owner ( and explained the situation and she was so excited for me and said that she would be glad to ship them out the next morning by priority mail!  In the meantime, I heard back from the lady on facebook and decided to go ahead with her cute set as well.  And dad LOVED all the owls so we really couldn’t have gone wrong!!!

BUT… the fact that we got these two tiny 1 week old babes to hold onto these little owls in the same way at the same time, was just a little bit magical.  It took a little finagling and a lot of patience, but we did it!:)
